J.D Mo'orea interview with Amazon Author Central
Q: The no bullshit approach to create the life you want. How did that name come about?
J.D: I’ve always been a straightforward kind of person with no filter. While I learnt something from every book that I read, most of them could have cut 20% of the content and still got the same point across. I wanted to cut through the B.S and get to the point, so readers could have concise answers and tools that would change their lives.
Q: You talk about reading 280 books in one year. How did you manage to achieve that?
J.D: I was originally inspired by Dr. John Demartini, who has read over 30,000 books in his life. When I started, I had only read 3 books in my life, so I set myself a target of 52 books in a year (1 per week). About how I did this? All is revealed in the book, but in short, I use a thing that Tony Robbins refers to as N.E.T (No Extra Time), combined with something that we all have access to.
Q: Who are your biggest influences in personal development?
J.D: Without a doubt, my hero is Tony Robbins. I have read all his books, listened to 10 of his complete audio programs, and attended his 6-day seminar “Date with Destiny”. Close behind Tony, is Dr. John Demartini who I have spent considerable time with in seminars, read his books, and even shared my books with him. These men are changing lives every day with their wisdom.
Q: Why do you believe this book can help people create the life they want?
J.D: Most of what is written in the book is common sense, however, for the most part, common sense isn’t that common. The tools I share in the book are so simple that people might think that it can’t be that easy. It is though, and when used, these simple tools can make a huge difference. I am living proof of this. Most people go looking for a complex solution to simple problems when it’s not necessary. These tools have changed millions of lives.
Q: What is the single most important thing that you learnt from reading 280 books?
J.D: I learnt that no book, no seminar, no mentor, or audio series is going to change our lives. The only way our life will change is if we change it. Like many people, I spent years looking for Tony Robbins and others to provide me with the answers to change my life. They provided me with many tools, but I didn’t realize it, or didn’t act on it, or take action. Most people want a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all solution. Life is what we make it, so take the tools I provide, along with other authors, and do something with them to create the life you want.
